DESIGN BRIEF | Apartment Living & Dining Room Fit-Out
Brisbane, August 2017
For this young, Brisbane-based couple, this apartment was a blank canvas and a great reason to begin investing into good quality furniture. The apartment featured an open plan living and dining room with balcony, so the focus was on creating a comfortably modern space with room for entertaining, whilst also serving as a retreat for those after work hours.
Working with the client, we opted for a neutral colour palette that would emphasis the textural elements in the room. Our features pieces included the Australian Made Coco lounge suite in Warwick's leather look and feel Eastwood fabric, and the six seater timber Depot dining table. To this we added our textural elements - the Grampian Woolen rug from Bayliss, various scatter cushions and pieces from La Forma; black rope dining chairs, an accent chair in denim blue, and tv unit and coffee table from the Hendrix collection. The black leg was a feature across our furniture selections as it helped elevate those pieces and give a feeling of more space, as well as serving as an anchor in such a light, white space.
The end result was a mix of clean lines with a neutral colour palette and textural elements that contributed to a comfortable, contemporary space - perfect for a young Brisbane based couple.
