Swan Hill

DESIGN BRIEF | Lounge Suite & Accent Chair

Swan Hill, November 2017

When we first met Nic her home was going through a major reno, see pics below! And in amongst this she was juggling her career and raising children - enough work on it's own! But, Nic had a vision and that was to update her house and make it her own, adding to it her signature classic and sophisticated style that could house growing children yet serve as her own quiet retreat.

So, on our first consultation, nestled in amongst boxes, builders dust and in part no walls, we chatted about her style and where her interiors plans were headed, discussed structural changes and furniture placement.

With Nic, her ideas and visions were all there, they just needed to be pulled in and tied together in a complimentary fashion. She knew what she liked and what she didn't like and together we chose pieces that really bought the home to life. We also worked off existing pieces that were to stay during and after the reno.

For the lounge room, we were working alongside an existing desk and built-in cupboards and shelving as well as a feature fireplace. To this we added the Coco Lounge Suite to sit in the middle of the room, as opposed to sitting along a wall, this helped to create a flow through the space and make it more of an intimate sitting area that then opened up via french doors to the dining room.

In the newly built dining room, the focus in here was for a gorgeously comfortable accent chair beside the large window. This was for Nic to enjoy her cup of tea and admire the front facing garden, a small space for her to catch her breathe and relax before and after a busy day.

We were lucky enough to help Nic create spaces within her home that defined her style and ultimately made it her own. It was an absolute pleasure helping her bring it all to life.
